Hey Bill,

Those Pics were SCARY!!!.  I think most guys are leaning towards Buck's.

I just would get some bait around your area the night before.  I have eel.  It was like $20 for a small piece.  But, it will last and you can re-use it.  Only got leopard sharks on it so far.  At least, bring some herring.

Bill I'm pretty sure Fishery Supply on Story road and Ly's on Capital and Mclaughlin will have grass/ghost/shrimp, Laine's in alviso will probably have the same as well as eel.

Art/Bill, I'm with you.  I really want to figure out the south bay areas as it is closer to home.  So let's hit Alviso.  Or perhaps Dumbo.

Talking to Bill, Joel and John.  They are all leaning to going to Buck's.

I think we should all get to Buck's around 8:30 to 9 am.  High is at 8:47 am and is 6.61 ft.  Low is at 4:22pm and -.79.

Need to start paddling in at 3:30 or 4pm at the latest.  Because of the low water and lack of daylight.

I think I am going to head to Alviso. Art needs a wing man  :smt003

I will sacrifice a potienitially great day at San Pablo for the chance to discover a potientially good spot to launch in the south bay.

Hmmm ... I smell a wager coming on.  North vs. South.  Now, what are the stakes?  Loosers wash the winners boats?

Go South!

people are slammin' em off the oakland airport.  I don't know where you'd launch and fish there though...

Guess I'll do the bucks thing, I'd do the southbay but for the bar...

Let's see if this time we can find the "Shell Banks" rather than just  paddle all the way out there where some PB is anchored.
Last time I believe we were 2.5 miles out - does that sound correct and yet, I didn't pull up any shells w/ my anchor.

PS, I know exactly where the Coastsiders are going near Oakland Airport to nail their Sturgeon.  It's just north of the Harbor Bay Ferry terminal.  Guys are catching them off the rocks near the running trail.  The Saturday you caught your big dino,  an old timer told me 11 sturgeon were caught by shore anglers there.  We would have an even better chance with our kayaks since we can reach the deep holes easier than the surfcasters.  There are several holes anywhere from only 75 yds to 1/4 mile from shore.

As for launch points, I know of 3 spots:
1) The southern most part of Alameda Beach (20 minute paddle)
2) A small park northeast of the ferry (10 minute paddle)
3) Near the jogging trail at the north end of the airport (2 minute paddle)

I've only fished there twice and I'm sure my timing was just off.  I sure would like to give it another try soon.
