the pvc tube prevents the sand caving into the hole...makes digging a lot easier.

I did a ride up along the coast today, can couldn't decide whether i was lucky for getting to ride in such beautiful conditions, or whether i would have been luckier to go fishing....

What a fine day, and thanks to you guys who showed us how to find the clams. We made a pot of manhattan clam chowder when we got home. Here's a picture of the quarry:

Where can I get one of these large PVC pipes used for clam digging?

Do you guys want to do it again? There is agreat tide on the 24th of May. Low is at 6:30am with a-1.5 that runs up to a high of3.9 at 1pm to another low of2.4at 6pm. Now this would be perfect for an all day event. Clamming in the am and then fishing for halibut on the incoming at the entrance to Tomales bay. Drifting ghost shrimp, smelt anchovies. or trolling. If there is some interest I will post it on hookups. Craig This is for a launch at Lawsons Landing in Marin county. YEt another place the enviros are trying to shut down. Check it out on Save Lawsons Landing website.

I'm down. That is if I'm not too beat from the previous day's festivities at Paradise.

Never been clamming, and still lookin' for my first Tomales (and Bodega Harbor) halibut.

In Loving Memory of Mooch, Eelmaster, Shicken, and Cabeza De Martillo

I started kayak fishing to get away from most of you...
