Fished sucka slough with inseine, noaoki, ashley, and steel leader today from 10:00 to 4:30, basically the whole outgoing tide. It was super busy with a ton of pb's everywhere. A few of us got hits and I had one text book "sturgeon pump" that I missed. We also had a bunch of taps and I finally was able to swing on a tap and landed a little 10" striper. That was all the action all day long... The sturgeon have moved on to somewhere else   :smt009

Good fishing with you all again, maybe you'll get them tomorrow!  :smt003

Feel for ya Buddy,  That place can plain strip your soul....

Butt,  They are there, I hope to get out this week and it's going to be the biggest scent trail I can get going. There are a few interesting spots that are  few miles paddle in either direction, but fish have been caught right in the immediate area..

I know you have been in this slough before, but keep the faith...

I hope to have the time to hit a late afternoon outgo on a nice day, that would be the ticket....

That place just goes magic at Dusk.....  :smt004

Thanks for the report Jay.
I was thinking of tomorrow but it's looking like a windy day. Too far a drive for a windy day.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

I sure do wish I could go, but I've got some WAF duties to attend to. Knock 'em dead for us and let us know how it goes. I'm hoping for another sturgeon expedition next weekend.
I've still got this friggin monkey on my back! What's a guy gotta do to catch just one legal sturgeon!?!  :smt013  :smt005  :smt013

Keep at it Jay. I could be wrong but, I think right now is the prime time for it.
Last year and the year before, I have caught a sturgeon as late as April out
there. The outgo tide was the ticket for me there as well. Oh, that was shore
fishing.

I don't have the commute, but I feel for you. I've got four trips just since January, plus who knows how many last year, maybe 10 or so. ChuckE had mentioned in another thread that he went three years before catching his first legal sturgeon. I am hoping it doesn't take me THAT long! Catching a sturgeon better be exciting enough to justify the many hours of just sitting on my kayak!  :smt003
