Reposting this again since it got slow at work and I am temporarily laid off, but I am not going to sit around and wait forever. I have atatched a copy and pasted resume to wordpad so it would attatch, I have a professional copy on hand.

Ive worked for the past 11 months at a mechanic shop doing light and medium automotive work. I am open to travel, I commuted a 2 hour drive for a little over two years. If any of you know of anything, please help a NCKA brother out!

I have never been fired or quit from a job, it's ALWAYS been lay offs due to lack of work. Very discouraging nonetheless, but have to support the family!

My main experience has been in sheet metal. I have about 3 years experience running a cnc laser. I am able to MIG and have light experience TIG welding stainless and and steel. After being laid off from the sheet metal industry last March I found a job in a high end cabinet shop running a cnc auto saw. I worked there for 7 months before being laid off this January for lack of work. I learned a lot in that short time with different tools, types of wood, assembly etc. I also did all the deliveries throughout the bay area and Sacramento areas in a 26 foot box truck.

I have other misc. experience in many other jobs when I was younger trying to find my niche. Ive done plumbing, paving and grading, stocking, oil changing, auto body. But one hobby of mine has been automobile customizing and modification. I have a lot of experience in custom truck suspension. I am sure I am forgetting a few things but you pretty much get the idea. Thanks a lot guys.

I forgot to add, I am willing to commute. I live in the Modesto area. I used to commute to Livermore for two years so I am used to it. I would be willing to drive further.

Hi Jeff,
If I hear of anything up here in Mendoland, I will pass it on. I have spent some time in fabrication shops as well and know the ropes. The picture of the shackle connections shows a decently formed weld, but shows some undercutting. Do you have some photos with fillets that are more convex? They might be better examples to pass on should I hear of a potential. JMHO, trying to be helpful.

Jeff, I will set this topic to sticky so you don't have to keep bumping it up - just until you get work again.

I do bodywork and paint prep as well. I have painted a few vehicles in my past, but I prefer to do the prep side of it. Here is my boss' Jeep I just did. Made some custom rocker guards from 1 1/2" DOM tubing.
