I made a last minute decision to hit Lake Natoma this afternoon/evening to try my luck at catching some trout.  I met one of my fishing buddies (hopefully a future NCKAer) at 2:00.  We launched from Negro Bar and paddled up to the "sign" and drifted back down.  I spent the afternoon using Needle Fish and Kastmasters.  I didn't get single bite until we were heading back to the ramp and I managed to land a 13 1/2 inch trout using a silver Needle Fish.  Here are some pictures.

Nice fish!

I wish I woulda known you were going to Natoma, I would have gone there instead of Folsom mud hole.

Welcome Sashimi and nice report.

I'll admit, I don't know the first thing about Natomas but that fish doesn't look like your typical rainbow.  Maybe a landlocked steelie or salmon?  Whatever it is, it sure is gorgeous.  Hopefully someone in the know can chime in.

Forked tail and black gums....you're looking at a king that was washed down from Folsom at some point.
