Check out this new kayak from Hobie! :smt003  I like it!  but not sure how it'll do for the ocean going folks.

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

that's a deal breaker for me.  can't imagine a wheeleez adaptation which would allow comfortably traversing soft sand with that amount of mass.  And forget about singlehandedly cartopping that thing

"Hull Weight: 88 lbs. / 39.9 kg
Fully Rigged Weight: 138 lbs. / 62.6 kg "
It's a beast no doubt, my OB hull weight is something like 57lbs and with it's length it gives me a little trouble when I have to lift it onto my campershell.  88 lbs would require some help.  I think for fresh water, this thing will be really nice, but after reading many posts regarding the ocean, I don't think this hull will be a big hit for that.  If it was available when I got my first OB I definitely would have got the Pro angler over my OB.

The NASCAR crowd is the intended market, and it looks wee suited for that, but the profile is nuts...that thing is gonna catch wind like a sail boat.

That's the "fully rigged" weight, which I take to include the Mirage drive and all other attachments.  Hull weight is 88 pounds, which at about 25 pounds heavier than my Outback is still a fat pig.  I can toss my Outback on top of my truck (2" lift) alone, but I don't think I'd enjoy trying that with this beast.  And Yakuza's right...pulling it through sand fully loaded would be a biatch, Wheeleez or not.  Especially at the end of the day, when you're wet, tired and carrying an additional 30-60 pounds of fresh fish, seaweed and water...ugh.  This is definitely a fresh water boat.

It Really addressed what it needed in a better design for the deck, but Aycramba on the weight and as SBD said,  the height in the water.  While in the outback, your sitting lower in the Profile, This one sits very high, I would think that would make it a bit more unstable in the Ocean.

I think they missed " The Boat " on this one, unless it comes with it's own trailer.... :smt002

I love the F & R handles industrial strength. Put a 5 horse on her and it would be a perfect solo boat

Looks pretty much the same as the Outback to me. Looks like the rider rides higher though.

I think this is exactly where a lot of people are going to go with it. It's too heavy to safely car top by oneself so most likely needs some type of small trailer. It's really suited to only lakes and standup fishing for hardcore bassers. Soooo, I can see the electric motors already. Good for them. Not so good for us salties...

yup, definitely a good platform for those bass fishermen types, also should work well for those guys down south who hunt bass in the bays. a little higher of a platform makes precision casting easier.

Here’s my haiku for the day.

At thirteen feet long,
And thirty-eight inches wide,
Is more like a boat.

I noticed it holds 13 Plano tackle boxes.  In case you want to target all 10 AOTY species on the same day...
