My buddy had an idea of spraying rhino liner on the hull of his yak to protect it further from scratches, holes, dings, and dents.  Apparently they make a smooth rhino liner w/o the rough texture.  Would this work?  Just wondering.
Good luck and tight lines.

It could be done, but I would advise against it.  Rhino-liner is pretty heavy and I don't think adhesion is going to be a guarantee.  The surface tension between the water and the Rhino-liner will also result in increased drag over the "slick" surface of the polyethylene hull.

Yeah, it's like having a new car...once you get past the first 2-3 big scratches you stop worrying so much.  Scratches in the bottom of your yak are much like hearing your wife tell you she's made family plans for the weekend you wanted to go fishing with your buddies...as much as you hope it'll never happen, it's inevitable.

Not to mention it would double the weight of your boat, that stuff is heavy.

Don't do it. I work in the autobody industry and I wouldn't put rhino lining on anything, anything! People put it in thier truck beds and ruin a good sliding surface. Also it looks like crap. If you want to protect your hull, especially the keel. I would find a compatabile plastic and glue a strip on. With a heat gun and going slow you can actually mold the plastic protection piece to the shape of the keel then glue it.
