Auburntroutfsherman and I met up late this morning and fished the lake.
Cold wet windy and slow fishing , but still nice to get out. I never got a bite but He got one . Tried spoons ,castmaster, powerbait with grubs and flasher .I left early so hopefully he will be able to add to the report. They had a plant from dfg on 1/12 and a private plant of trophy fish on 2/10

Not the best water conditions but I will bet that you know you are ALIVE. Sometimes a fishing in a big storm with no one else around is pretty cool. :smt002

Nice we've been going to Collin's for the last 15yrs missed last year it's a tough lake sometimes but has a lotta nice fish. Did you launch at the ramp? I usually fish the the powerlines and the eastern shore across from the rental docks that big reef in the middle can be killer for LMB and Smallies.

Did you stop at the Store and get an Ice Cream it rocks??

Thanks for the invite Brian.  I had a lot of fun today.  Though the weather was less than ideal it was a nice workout paddling against the head wind.  I fished til 5, pretty slow overall.  Other than that small brown in the picture (man i look like a goober) I only caught two more, small rainbow and another small brown.

Brown1: watermelon dodger and nightcrawler @ 15-20 ft.
Rainbow1: gold  dodger with an orange/green needlefish.
Brown2: Trout pattern rapalla (fast troll with the wind)

Thanks again for the invite.  With your permission I would like to add today's location and catch to my mapping project.

Glad you had a good time list what ever helps . Did you use the lead core the hole time? Maybe thats why I did not hook up. We launched form the boat ramp and worked both sides to and from the damm. Stopped at the store for snickers and hot coffee. Forgot my gloves needed a little thaw. Glad I had that shorty wet suit on . Waves were comming over the sides .

Yeah, against the wind I was trolling lead core.  With the wind I would troll with lead core and topline with a Rapalla.

No goober-vision here - I wish I could've gotten out on the water this weekend, so all I see is a lucky guy...  a happy lucky guy.  Bravo.   :smt001
