I'm looking at getting a yak for my son/daughter. Looking for info on the P13, T13, and the X13(I havea P15 and a Malibu 2XL).  I'm also thinking of the mini  or one of the hobie's (Haven't looked at all there models yet). I've tried the T13 w/rudder. I'm just looking for everybody else's opinion's, thought's, ect.

I have a P13 and really like it.  It is very fast and takes little effort to keep it going.  I am 6 ft, 200 lbs so it is a little bit of a wet ride for me.  I usually put in scupper plugs in the lakes to keep the water out of the cockpit. In the ocean I have a wetsuit, so it isn't a bother.

The boat seems stable, and I have fished and dove off of it.  I like keeping the cockpit open to ease getting in and out after a dive.

The T13 came out just after I bought mine.  I have to admit I really like the features it has.  I like the rod pod, but wonder if it interferes with diving/rolling into the cockpit?  Any case nice looking boat and good fishing set up.  If it paddles the same as the P13, I think it would be a winner.

The X13 looks nice.  I do like the Malibu's front hatch cover to put children on the kayak.  Nice feature.

I have a, x13. It's only been in the water twice, but it tracks well and moves pretty fast and it's still stable. I'm about 200lbs. I also like the front hatch. I have a son and in a year or so he should be big enough to sit up front. I am planning on bringing it to the Potluck in San Mateo in a few weeks if you want to take it for a spin.

Snapperhead,

We have the T-13 and  the P-13 at the Aquan Boathouse. If you can make it to the AOTY potluck on the 21'st you can demo these kayaks as well.

my 13 year old had a p13, then we won a t13.  After a few outings, he stuck with the t13, so for him it was better.
