Good, 'cause I've had a bunch of delays & am running LATE...  I'll probably hit the ugly traffic through Santa Rosa.  :smt011

But, lots to look forward to & I'll bring some brew to restock. Have beer, will travel.  :smt003

Kill shot, eh?   :smt003

It's like this, basically we've hit the jackpot!

Domenic is the Golden Boy.  The Man has some fish mojo.   :smt007

39", 24 #....    You figure out what it is - I think it may be the first kayak-caught specimen of this species in the lower 48!!!

PeteB got two of the nicer lings today - not too many over 24-26", but LOTS of lings landed, released, bonked...etc.  Bob S. had a nice stringer too, as did all who ventured out and wanted one.

Ariel was a happy camper with this stringer - he and Sin Coast had a "dueling cabby" match where they were pulling them up left and right.  Ariel caught 10 cabbies!  and released one with a big belly that was larger than the big one here.  Ariel's not a little guy - get a load of that puffer vermy!!

Speaking of cabbies, tons were caught including Jedmo's 24"er and Trophy1's Dad caught a 25"er.  I CPR'd a 21.5"er and several other rockies and a few short lings and kept a barely legal ling.

We launched into thick fog that burned off to reveal at least two dozen yaks on the water and beautiful scenery.  The ocean was a bit kicked up and several of us got the queaze, but smiles were universal, and several of us had grin-aches after seeing Dom come in with that Pacific Halibut!  I'm beside myself.  :smt001

Here's another shot of Ariel's sweet prizes.

Holy crap! I have fished the cove for a long time and never expected to run into a Pacific flatty inside the whistler. :smt003 :smt003 :smt007 :smt044

Usually it is a 15 mile run up to spanish flat ffrom the cove.

This also my first halibut and now I am HOOOKEDD!!

This hook up is everything and more than expected.

With or without the big ass hali.

Everyone I have met confirms to me that we have one RIPPING bunch of people in NCKA.

I also have to thank Etienne for tossing me his gaff, so I didnt have to dig mine out of my bow hatch.

That was a life saver (or fish saver).

And Ariel Sea for hanging out with meat the cleaning table coaching me while I filleted the halibut.

That diamond shaped body - that is no California flatty, that's for sure. Awesome.
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...
