Amphibian - you oughta take the time to see the directions video on page 43.  There are lots of turns on the road to Shelter Cove, and there's always a little sign that points you in the right direction - take your time on the Shelter Cove road.  It's about 45 minutes from 101 to the Cove.

Phil - you don't need no stinkin' fishfinder!!!  (although Dom was helping my install my first last night!   :smt003)

OK, back to work...

Howdy All,
I am a littel late jumping on this band wagon but I have been waiting to see if I could get away for this and the wife has ok'd it. I will be heading up on Friday. Just wondering how deep some of the areas we will be fishing along this part of the coast? Does it drop off deep really fast? How long a paddle do most of you guys plan on taking for this Epic fishing journey? Just trying to get a feel as to what to expect. Look forward to meeting everyone.

Howdy DrHabanero,

The area we'll be fishing is less than 100' deep and gradually slope (no steep drop off).  We usually fish the area between the bell buoy and the whistle buoy which is about a mile from shore for Salmon (about 80' deep) but for rockfishs you can catch them much closer to shore!  Looking forward to meeting you there.

Welcome, Dr. Pepper!   :smt003  Sonny's got it right - not a far paddle and not a hard thing to catch some fish.  See you there.   :smt001

Andy - I'm sure your gear will work, especially after Otobepelagic caught one on a banana peel with a hook attached last year!   :smt005

Dustin - don't forget your toothbrush.   :smt002

OK,

here to contribute to the 50th page. Update on weather is making me feel lighted headed and giddy with excitement. Am headed to garage to sit in the kayak to assist with the withdrawl symptoms. Safe travels to all, see you there.  When you drive up 101, honk to anyone with a kayak, it'll be our  super secret squirrel code for the GMS'ers.
