I wonder how many tents do they allow per site? I am going to call and reserve a site, anyone is welcome to pitch a tent on my site. I guess anyone who needs a place to pitch a tent probably has to just pay for the extra tent fee at the campground office.

I'm thinking now that with economic times being what they are that I won't ask the campground owner for any concessions.

This is really true, Everyone needs a Break from this economic Blight, but if we could inject a

NorCal Kayak Angler stimulus package to Shelter Cove, I'm sure it would be appreciated and not

 forgotten.....

I snagged site #103 all the way in the back under the only tree there, as seen in the photo below from 'Gimme shelter I" It's five bucks more for an extra tent ($32 + $5 per night) so if some one wants to split the site two ways let me know

Do the tent sites have electric outlets?

OK, I didn't want to put any pressure on my buddy, the owner of the campground, but I thought I'd call him just to get our little shin-dig on his radar.  He was thrilled to hear that we're coming.  He's blocking off the whole back line of camp sites for us and giving us two full sites that he'll put more tables in and cordon off to allow us to use for the potluck and other group stuff for the weekend.  I told him about NCKA and how the people from this community are top-notch, give you the shirt off their back type of people - he's the same kind, and I hope everyone remembers to show much respect and appreciation because I'll bet he'll roll out one hell of a red carpet for us.

When you book your campsite be sure to mention that you're with NCKA and/or "the kayak fishing group", so they'll get us all in the blocked sites.  Them knowing what kind of numbers we're coming in will also help grease the wheels of that red carpet.  This could be the beginning of a beautiful relationship!

Last:  I stole this from Danglin, I told Jack that one little motto of our trip is that we're "bringing an economic stimulus to Shelter Cove!"  They need it down there (not that we all don't), and I'm really looking forward to the Love that's gonna flow.

It's beer-thirty...  Abking out.   :smt001

PS:  TAD - I think only the trailer sites do, but FisHunter (who we've not heard from here...   :smt009), Otobepelagic, and HOLY TOLEDO would know.

So-- on with the stimulus idea...where's the closest place that I can stimulate the economy with a purchase (beer).

SOunds crazy, but i might as well spend the dollars up there close to the camp than down here in Yuppie-landia

AbKing, I just stumbled across your plan for this great outing. Count me in!!! I went out to Shelter Cove one evening in '07 while on a business trip to check it out. Been waiting for the right time to go back. Well, this is obviously the time!! I stayed at the Tides but will probably join the group campout. Will make arrangements and advise.

Booked a room at the Tides today, the wife and little one will be in attendance too, so camping was a no go.

Beer can be purchased within stumbling distance from the campground, it is a store/deli in front of the campground.
Sometimes the bar at the country club is open too. Just hop the fence and walk across the air strip/golf course.

Dont ask me how I know all this...

Well, I have jigs to pour and hooks to sharpen.

I cant wait to meet everyone!

Tight lines.
