The campground band is shaping up nicely,

Danglin and guitarzan: guitars
FishinMike: mandolin
Banjotad: banjo, bass guitar (if the campsite has electric?) amp turned way down of course.

Anyone else want to join the band?

Who can sing? (I can't and won't)

Song ideas guys?

Stones "Gimme Shelter" of course
maybe some Neil Young,Dylan

WOW!  That is a bigger list than some of the tourney's I have been too!   :smt044

OH, and I will publicly indemnify AbKing, NCKA, and all others who join just for the record!  No need to turn this into a legal issue or anything.  Do we have any fishing lawyers on board?? :smt044

Hey, since we have so many people coming shouldn't we be planning a potluck or something for Saturday night?  I know if Andy is coming, your gonna want to eat what ever he is cooking! :smt005

Are you going to be handling the booking of the group campsite?

A Saturday night potluck would be awesome for all the NCKAers. We can all show off our cooking skills and share our favorite dishes.

I just got off of the phone with Stephani at Shelter Cove RV park and Campground. The rate for trailers is 43 a night for 2 people with full hookups. Tents 32 a night for 2.
Extra campers 5 a night, extra vehicles 1 a night. dog 1 a night plus bring proof of rabies vaccine.

She said not alot of reservations yet but don't wait.
Contact 707-986-7474. No web site, no email

They hope to have the deli rebuilt from the fire.

The pictures posted by Abking are of this park.

If you bring a trailer, beware the road from Garberville is windy and steep The last series of hills to the cove is a brake smoker and there is no escape at the bottom. :smt010
I take that hill in 4 by low 2nd gear.

Good day eh

Dang! 32/night for tent camping in a big open field? As many people we have going, we should just pool our $ and buy a house...an official NCKA Vacation Property!

Oh, and BTW my avatar is a 20lb salmon from The Cove.

Actually, with this big group, we could probably get a deal from the vacation rental home people up there.  Maybe rent a couple of houses?  They are probably quite negotiable right now

We rented one, but just a little one bedroom. There are a few others up there tho'. Probably cheaper than a hotel and you get a kitchen etc as well.

I'm thinking now that with economic times being what they are that I won't ask the campground owner for any concessions.  I'll keep that potential Karma Capital and use it if we need a break while we're there.  So please book your own.  I don't think it'd hurt though to mention you're with the big kayak gathering.

Potluck - oh yes, Saturday night shin-dig for sure.

Glad to see you and Graham will be there, Hawk.   :smt001
