Our beloved Roxy finally succumbed to nasal carcinoma this morning. She had been recieving chemo treatments in Davis at Uc. She had a siezure this morning in our bed at 6:30 am and passed away in our arms. Words cannot describe the feeling of loss that I have right now. This little girl was the best of the best. Alsways happy and just full of life and light. We will miss her so much. I know that a lot of us here have pets and have probably lost some. It's not easy at all, ever. My heart is wounded today and I know it will ease but I will always have a special place in my heart for our Roxy. The little pit mix we rescued from the pound 10 years ago.

Be happy for the Good Times you guys had together, Craig.  Things you CAN change vs things you CANNOT change - the essence of finding happiness in your life hinges on this, and I hope you can have new and positive growth knowing that you were able to share time with your beloved pet.  Find the half full part, Brother.  How would Roxy want you to feel?   :smt001

Joyous and free is how she would want me to feel. She knows that we will be OK and I am glad she's not suffering anymore. A dogs love is the most unconditional love there is. Thanks to all who care for our loss. Death is a beginning to an ascent of supreme joy, of this I am sure. Craig

Ravensblack, Sorry to hear this.  I know the loss your feeling right now.  I went through it Mar. 13th 2008 when I put to rest my cat of 15yrs.  By far the hardest thing I've done in my adult life.  I feel your pain!  You'll know when the times right to get another dog.

Sorry for your Loss Craig nice job on the Rescue she looks like a real happy dog you gave her a lotta good times as She did you. It's great you were there for her when She needed you,I'm sure her last thoughts were Happy. She is still smiling chasing that big Ball in the sky thinking about how lucky she was for so long.

I'm sitting here at work with tears in my eyes...

Our family believes that dogs are bhodisatvas.  So if she chose to move on it must have meant she had taught you all she could...and looking at your post I would suspect that you know that too.
