You guys know how we roll....The Usual Suspects, The Usual Spots and up to the The Usual No Good.

For, the Day is supposed to start off at a leisurely 8 am at my pad then off to the beach.  Everyone arrives on time but my ass was dragging like a guy who was slightly hungover from the previous nights festivities and working off of 3 hours sleep.....and Angle has yet to purchase a license.  We drive all over town looking for one but as usual the state makes giving them our money next to impossible, no one has em in stock and they don't know when they will get more.  We finally found one at coyote bait and tackle but only after getting lost trying to find it.  We wandered down to Monterrey to pick up hippie mike and arrive at our destination sometime around 11 am.  Only about 2 hours behind schedule, not bad and not unusual.

For, the ladies. The Notorious P.A.C.co remix gives em all one more chance. "Heart throb never, brown and ugly as ever, however, I stay Omer down to the socks"

...."who shot ya, separate the weak from the obsolete, hard to creep them nor cal reefs"

"One false move, get swiss cheesed up"

For, the rest of us non-modern day sex symbol gangsta computer geek padawans...

I slipped into the water, silent like ninja.  I had some trouble clearing one of my ears and my knee is still not 100% so I tried to stay shallow.  Found a nice big flat granite rock that had sides dropping into deep water.  I cruise over it and drop down.  Sitting in a groove, sunbathing like the little bastard knows the season is closed...is a fatty ling.  I couldn't help myself, so I shot her with my cannon A650 :smt003

I think its pretty much a given I won't see anything that easy in season :smt011.   After that I found a couple more fish around the same area.  Missed a shot on a big olive and nailed a decent grassie so I was not skunked.  After that I just kinda cruised the surface enjoying the awesome visibility.  They're was plenty of fish out but my ear was bugging me so I didn't get to hunt much.  I handed over the cam to hipie mike and he went to town.  He got a couple good shots.

Hippie being a hippie....holding the cam upside down.

Hippie preoccupation with grass.

This is how you swim with a retarded left knee.

At least I have an excuse for looking like a jackass.

For, the end.

Wow, the viz looks awesome. I have to get down there with you guys. It looks as if it was 20 to 30 ft of viz. How deep were you guys diving? Great shots. Looks to be in the 15 to 30 foot range.

I only got in about a half dozen drops before calling it quits due to the ear, deepest was 21ft to shoot a fish I spotted from the surface.  Angel was a real madman making regular drops between 25 and 30 feet with decent downtime, way longer than his usual 12 seconds. I think it was his best day on the water.  He's chalking it up to his new found love for mtn biking and the superb 25ft vis.

The camera is my cannon a650, has been around on every dive but today was the first day we had vis that would allow us to get decent shots without investing 5k in special flashes and lenses.

Great pics AG. You guys are keeping me motivated to get spearo gear someday. Although it's a bit colder up here the diving is pretty decent.

Sweet report and pics! Nice video too.
I always take the Carmel vis for granted until somebody from the north remarks how clear it is....25-30ft is just average for that particular area.

Both will help.  Solid progress Angel.
