Has anyone found a way to get stickers to stick to textured kayak surfaces? I used marine goop and it does work but the sticker has a lumpy surface. :smt012

Thanks! Scott  :smt006

Just curious...  How did you apply the MG?  Did you spread a layer over the already adhered sticker?  Or did you use the MG under the sticker as an adhesion aid?
I was just thinking that if you tried the latter, maybe using something to squeegee over the sticker will help to get excess MG out from under the sticker and lessen the lumps?

Haven't tried it myself, just the first idea to pop into my mind...

You're going to get bumps with this too, but just from the texture: I found that if after you put the sticker on you heat it with a hair dryer and press it down, it sticks better - or just do it on a hot day in the sun.  Sooner or later you'll scratch or rub them off with normal wear and tear.

Depending on "how" textured the surface is, I have had luck by heating the sticker up. It helped, 1) the sticker is more flexible and 2) the adhesive loosens up and is much more tacky.

Hope this helps.
