I've had a dozen or so for over a week now, and didn't really get a chance to use them.  Not sure when I will either. But they seem to be very resilient since only one has died and I'm not using an aerator or anything.  Seems like I might as well feed them something!  Didn't really want to go to the fish store, but will if there isn't a home remedy I can just toss them.  Would some cracker or bread crumbs work for a quick meal?  Or should I go and get some generic fish food?

Feed them chunks of zucchini. Or just bring them to my house and "stock" them in my backyard pond haha!

You can just feed them generic golfish food or so but dont feed them too much, just enough for them to eat in a few minutes . for every 8-10minnows one large pinch between two fingers should be good avery other day or every day
Everybody should have the opportunity to fish

Yep, cheap goldfish food works great. Tiny bread crumbs will tide them over for a day. Aerate the water if you can.

What about just dropping a worm in?  I'm sure they could tear it apart enough to eat.  Although one might pig out on it.

Hey brdopry, Welcome to the board!!!

I ended up taking some fish food from a guy at work that has a fish tank.  Think I may get a fish tank for the garage for storing these guys.  Hope to find one on Craigslist for free even!

At least in the garage they should be safe from raccoon's!  Me, not having a garage, but a counter outside, on back deck, an aquarium with minnows in it would be unhealthy for the minnows due to the raccoon traffic I get!

Yeah, that problem exists in SJ too!  My dad has a koi pond in the back yard, which each fish has met the same demise of a quick beheading.  Little rascals eventually learned to go in the cat door and eat their food!

Hahaha ...My folks have a small pond in their back yard, and after spending $$$$ of fish, discovered the pond empty! Now, theres chickenwire covering it and the replaced fish are still present!

Chicken wire is what I use, but still lose one now and then to an old garter snake.
