My first day was at OAP where I was met by some regulars and new faces as well. Good meeting and fishing with you guys. Congrats to the guys who did hook fish. I told Mike, after seeing a fish breach in very shallow water, what fun it would be hooking one there. Little did I know...
My second day was spent at China Camp with some regulars. I followed the crew out a ways and fished with them a while, until the wind seemed to pick up, then decided to fish in closer near Rat Rock. I dropped the anchor, then the shrimp. The bait was on the bottom for about 15 seconds when I get a solid pump. I pick the rod up as it loads up and set into it. Fish on! It was only 47" but legal, baby!
Thanks to Ben for helping me measure it.
The steaks only need to be vacuum packed and I'm done processing. They look good!
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Fifteen seconds?..I didn't think it took that long...did it? Boy I am glad you didn't catch that in December. :smt044 Good for you Juan. Did you take your lucky crab over there with you? The only fish we saw was one that broke the surface about five feet to my right.      Great fishing with you again....

DING DING DING... we have a new winner in the quickest sturgeon race. I thought Mel's 10 minute dino was quick last year... Then, Chucke pulled one out of the hat in about 10 mins the other week... 15 seconds...! That'll never be broken... WOW!!! Nice job Juan...

Right on Juan! Did Allen share those fabulous shrimp we pumped up yesterday? When I cleaned my sturgeon from last Sunday it was chock full of little crabs. Time to fire up the smoker.
