I was able to demo and Outback and a Revolution with and without turbo fins and thought I'd post my results.  Couple disclamers...1) I'm a novice and not in the worlds best shape, 2) I weigh in around 205lbs and there was nothing in the boat with me, 3) I was using a handheld gps for speed, 4) the conditions were perfect.

Revo w/o turbo: 3.3 mph comfortable stride; 4.4 mph top speed
Revo w/ turbo: 4.3 mph comfortable stride; 5.5 mph top speed
OB w/ turbo: 4.7 mph top speed

I didn't try the OB w/o turbo.

One thing I noticed was that it seemed much more difficult to get the OB up to speed and I got tired much quicker.  The OB was the last trial and I'm not in the best shape so maybe it was just me.

Anyway, I thought I'd share these results in the event someone else was wondering about this.

BTW - I decided on the Revo w/ turbo :smt003 :smt003  I should have it by next weekend.

Thanks for the stats, SB - that's good info.

And believe me, you're in better shape than probably most people if you're out on a kayak at all.  Keep at it.   :smt001
