http://www.kayakfishinggear.com/catalog/magazine_and_video_403589_products.htm

It's  $1.50 per issue and it comes out quarterly.  I have all three of the issues that have came out so far and it's definitely worth $1.50...

There was a leopard print speedo story that inspired me.

Back in St. Cloud, MN, I'd taken my brother and malaysian study/drinking/fraturnity brother to some granite quarries where there was a sheer cliff into a water filled quarry that you could dive off of (I'd discovered this place because we did scuba certs there).  The water was VERY cold since the quarries were 140' deep, so I'd brought a couple shorty wetsuits to make it a bit more comfy.  There was a porta-potty there that people could change in (a luxurious handicapped one).  I changed into my trunks and let Jeff in while I put on a shorty.  Out he comes wearing that leopard spot speedo.  I just about had an aneurism...  Thank god for those shorties, as this was a 'cool' hangout for young adults in the area and we could have been lynched.  He thought americans were wierd and said it was his lifeguard uniform from back home.  Border patrol should check for fruits, vegetables, and speedoes before letting people in - for their own safety!

Hey, the philipines is right next to malaysia... Uh-oh!

Yeah,

Without the rubbing Bill would have gotten a legal one and not a undersize.  And, I would have been his best buddy!!!

Leave the Banana at home.  The only time I have seen fish caught with banana around is on the long range trips out of San Diego.  And the Dorado will hit anything thrown in the water.  Bare hooks, pieces of paper and french fries.

I already did 6 sturgeon trips this year and I have only caught one undersize kayak record  :metal green sturgeon. I think I'm due for one and I truly believe that I deserve one  :smt089

Be patient young grasshopper... (wait... that's Kung Fu...not Star Wars)

Wax on, Wax off Hana Pa'a-son ... (oops... Karate Kid)

When 400 years you reach, look as good you will not...mmmm?  (oops... that's Yoda... getting closer).

Patience is a virtue.... (oops... that's probably Confuscious or something).

The longer you soak a shrimp, the better your chances.  (profound eh?)

The less you talk on the radio and eat stuff and do all kinds of things other than fishing, the more sturgeon you will catch. (now that's poetry).

A rod in the hand is worth a fish in the boat. (deep... deep stuff)

Heck... just put in your time Man... they're in there... just think about how HUGE it's going to be when you finally hook a big ol' bubba dino.

Whew... I'm spent! :smt085

Thanks coach  :smt025 I REALLY want to get a keeper before the season ends....I don't think I can wait another year to get the chance to catch one.

(this is exactly what I told Stuart last year - when I was after my first salmon)

Well Joel... you really have through March or April ... so there's plenty of time left.

I'd seriously think about fishing the incoming tide at the mouth of the Petaluma River or Sonoma Creek... maybe launching at Black Point at low tide and stealthing through the shallows like Eric Anfelson talked about doing during his seminar, and using the incoming tide to help you get back to the launching point.

It makes a lot of sense that a large number of fish would move down from the shoreline and the river and stay in 3 or 4 feet of water to feed on the mud flats before moving back up with the incoming tide.

If I weren't home bound, that's what I'd be trying on the next nice day.  I've never tried it before but it really sounds like a situation where the "stealth" of a kayak could really pay off... and a good way to fish the "odd" weeks where you don't have a nice outgoing to fish.

my friends and i have caught about 2 dozen sturgeon over the last 10 years and i agree with eric, march and april are better. first, the weather is better and you can fish for a longer duration. second, with 47 degree water, those fish cannot be moving too fast, as it warms thet probably get more active.  i see the most jumpers from may through july, but by then i am fishing for stripers, and we all know how i feel about that!

Ok guys I have found a few figures about survivability in wet suits

Source: http://216.239.57.104/search?q=cache:hCGeQmpKC0UJ:natsar.amsa.gov.au/Manuals/Land_Search_Operations_Manual/05.pdf+wetsuit+survivability&hl=en&client=firefox-a

At the bottom: in 6 degree celsius water

time to incapacity:

light clothing - 0.41.3 Hrs
4.8 mm Wet Suit 1.64.7 Hrs.

Time to Unconsciousness

light clothing - 0.82.6 Hrs
4.8 mm Wet Suit 3.19.9 Hrs

Time to cardiac arrest

light clothing - 1.34.3 Hrs
4.8 mm Wet Suit 4.916.2 Hrs

I can't find anything on waders specifically but I am guessing if you got water in them you are looking at the light clothing numbers.
