Oakland Bait or Mikes' Bait...both off E14th. and near each other and google-able.

Alright, help me out here, I'm still such a noob.... what is the shrimp pump for? When he hands over the shrimp, do I reach out with the pump and suck them out of his hand? Or do I hit him with the shrimp pump and run? Or is the shrimp pump to get the shrimp pumped up and stoked about getting wrapped in magic thread on the end of a 6/0? There must be some reason I'm spending tonight fiddling with rubber balls and PVC..............?  :smt001

If y'all don't mind a newbie hanging around I think I can make this, but I have some questions.

What time? Aside from a fish ending the day pleasantly, does the tide determine when you hang it up? (I've seen some pics of some ugly looking mud <g>)

If you have a snare, is a net also required?

Should I use the 'San Pablo Bay Sturgeon Rig' (Two outward facing 6/0 hooks separated by beads on a loop)?

Are there any safety issues to consider when choosing to wear rain-gear, or coats, under *or* over your PFD?

How far will I be carting my yak from the truck to the water?

TIA!

i don't think a net is required in the bay.  a snare is handy to have though.

the double hook sturgeon rig works well.  some people use single hook rig, and it works as well.

it's always good to wear pfd when kayaking.  i don't think it matters whether you wear your pfd under or over as long as the pfd is tightly strapped on.  i prefer to wear my pfd over.  see my id photo closely.

you can park your car along side of harbor bay parkway near the launch place.  it's a short distance, and you don't really need a kayak cart,,,unless you park your car across the street or a couple of blocks away.

have fun!

i'm a definite maybe...

and a net is required in the bay (at least if you want to be in compliance with the DFG regs)-- at least 18" in diameter
