Well, it felt like springtime at least.  What a perfect weekend...3 days off, a little football (go Pittsburgh!), and all the fishing I can handle.

Saturday...as I was launching I realized my FF is done, so I fished a little blind this weekend.  I got a couple two+ pounders on the crankbait and a small undersized striper on a jerkbait.  Slow bite.

Sunday...hooked up with XSquid and tried to crank up a few more.  Got one early in the morning, about two pounds (pic 1).  Picked up another pound and a halfer also on the crank.  Got a real nice bite and scored a fat 4.5 pound LMB (pic 2).  Finished off the day with two more 13 inchers, one on the drop shot and the other on the crankbait.  Five for the day.  Kevin got his new crankbait rod broken in with a couple crankin' as well.

Monday...worked more of the same with the crankbait--got two small keeper LMB by 8:30.  Got two smaller versions (11-12 inches each) dropshotting docks.  Picked up another schoolie striper only 15 inches.  Threw the crank for hours without a bite and started to head back.  Finally on the way in I pick up a nicer bass that went two and a quarter pounds.  I started to slow down the retrieve and work a nice weed edge with 400 yards to go.  I was enjoying the end of the trip, the weather, and everything was perfect.  I was slow cranking (real slow) a long cast and stopped moving it about half way home...thump...set the hook and another big bass shows herself down there in the clear deep water (5-6 foot viz)...she was pulling hard, but came into the net nice and easy after a couple of minutes.  Just a beautiful fish.  A bass boat passing by was kind enough to get a couple photos (pic 3 and pic 4).  Seven pounds and 2 ounces: a fat early season delta bass.

Getting to spend three consecutive days on the water, and a fatty to top it off?  Sick!

They were real cool--a dad and his sons by the look of it.  Bassers always get a kick out of my plastic bassin' machine...

"Strong work" is so redundant for you and your catches, Bryan.  Nicely done, and excellently reported.  Thanks.

Sorry Jed, didn't you read ALL the rules? :smt011

Bryan has been instructed otherwise.

HB!....you need to run your own DeltaBassClinc......charge alot of $$$ and see all the people who come paddling, running, motoring and lining up to listen to you talk, peddal and hook fish!
