Hit the water around 915am. Couldn't ask for a nicer Jan morning. Warm and very little breezes. Water was flat and calm. Women rowing team training near the ramp. A few people fishing from the bank and one pb trolling near the turning basin. The place was almost empty...I liked it. Trolled and drifted some fat minnows I picked up at Elkhorn bait. Threw some top water and other lures too. Nothing worked, got skunked today. But that's OK. I had a nice nap while drifting minnows near the barges. Then paddled farther down towards the basin. Enjoyed 3 hours of a beautiful day on the water.

I know there's fish to be had around there. I just need to be schooled on how and where to get them.
One lesson I learned is to bring the FF next time.

I'll post a few pics later

Al

Therapy sessions are crucial - I'm going for mine tomorrow.  Thanks for the report.   :smt001

You're right about that. It did me a lot of good just sitting out there. Hope yours turns out well too.

Hey Al,

Sorry ya didn't get one of those Huge linesides hanging out in there,

Beautiful day though,  so far I've tried twice,  saw the Girls :smt007 :smt007

Threw artificials and hooked up with 1lb to 2lb LMB only.  Have talked to locals who have hit that since kids and they have stories.... :fishing1

Talk is cheap ... But one time I was checking it out after work, talking to some bank guys..

across the way a Monster is Crashing something, saw Black and Silver at one point...

I asked " So whats that??? ... "   (they said there was no fish in there)

 " Oh, That's just a Otter ".....   :cat:

They are in there, just a matter of time.....

Also have seen ( Couple years ago ) Bank people casting spinners for salmon, and succeeding.....

Al.......Arcade Creek is good.

Out of the American River Area launch ....whats that falled, Discovery Park..??... instead of turning left to the Sacramento River, you go right....appearances notwithstanding, it's not a blind end.

I caught a couple midweight LMB above the second bridge yesterday.

Looks good for catfish but I've never stayed that late.
