I have this bad habit of buying too much stuff when I buy parts for a project and so it happens that I had enough parts on hand to build a second sturgeon snare. I only need one so I'll offer the spare snare up for trade.  :smt006

The handle length is 42" and it's built with pipe insulation around the handle to increase the chances of it floating if you have an accident.  :sign12: :laughing6:

I'm easy on the trade and would trade for a hookup at a new sturgeon hole and some tips (I've only fished Montezuma for sturgeon), some tackle, whatever. When I bought all the pieces for the two snares I think it came to about $38, so I'm estimating the value of the snare at about $19.

Good golly I've been thinking about making one of these.  Unfortunately I don't have much to offer.  There will be plenty of people to jump though, mark my words.

BTW, did you follow the instructions on the board.  If so, how was it?  This is on my To-Do list.

I kind of followed the directions on the board. I built one before that had a little accident in the garage involving the car  :smt044 These I just built from memory. Also, like I mentioned, I'm easy on the trade. If you've got a place you like to fish for any species and you would like to hookup and give me some tips, I'd be happy to trade. In addition to learning more about sturgeon, I sure would like to learn more about bass fishing or steelhead from the yak.

Yeah, I searched for the link but couldn't find it.  Do you know who originally posted it?

Don't know the first thing about steelies but someday hope to learn.  As for bass, I'm still learning that one although I did nab 3 on New Years day at DV.  That was pretty cool.  Got 2 on minnows and one drop-shotting a 4" senko.  And I was actually targeting them too. :smt044   I'll be out there next Sunday, the 25th, chasing stripers and smallies but would gladly tell and show you what I did - not for the snare, but just because.  After thinking about it, I'll need 2 snares anyway for whenever I take a friend out.  Although should it still be around in another month, my mind may change. :smt003

Michael, Erik (KzReelRods) posted the pictorial instructions. Here is a link to the picture. When you find them, use 1" PVC insted of 1-1/4" and use PVC long enough to measure the minimum size requirement.

I would be interested in a trade. Are you planning on going sturgeon fishing anytime soon? We could meet up at OAP or something.

My next fishing day will be Sunday, and hopefully going for sturgeon. Let's keep in touch and if you're available we'll trade.  :smt006
