it was nice to see everyone.  although i caught nothing, i had fun assisting my buddy with his catch.  btw, his name is Andy...that's right...that's his name...the newbie dude with a huge sturgie.  he went home with a big smile.  i am sure his family had a blast with fileting that monster yesterday.  we are definitely going back to OAP next wkend.

BTW, Melissa, I'm guessing you didn't end up getting that new PFD based on the pictures you posted.

Yup, didnt get it because they didnt have a small for me.  I really liked the mango colored Kokatat.   I'm waiting for Mooch to let me know if they have one at his shop and how much.  I'll make do until I get it though. 

SturgeonGoddess*? those waders give you an extra 30+lbs in those pics.   you must have been bundled up.

Actually you are right.  I had a pair of thermals under thick sweat pants with a tank top, a long sleeve shirt, a fishing shirt, the wader's belt, all under a sweatshirt and paddle jacket, and I had room to spear!

I know how you feel about sturgeon fishing but really... nows the time to get one... they're out there  practically jumping in the boat. But if you still prefer the spoon... I got your back on that too...

Does seem to be the year of the sturgeon so far, as for Melissa's SKILL, seems she's got everyone beat, took the rest of you most of the day to get yours.

not to steal any thunder from anyone by jackin the thread, but Mooch, WHAT are you talkin' 'bout? - the spoon thing that is . . .

a spoon is not as sharp as a knife....so, when you stab someone with a spoon, you'll really need to muscle it to get it through the flesh = which means that it would (I believe) hurt even more....hope this explains it.

So when I say, "I'd rather get stabbed by (or with) a spoon (repeatedly) than fish for sturgeon"...it simply means "I hate sturgeon fishing with a passion"
