I wasnt exactly blown away by this trap.  It is made for east coast blue crabs, apparently.  The holes are too small for legal dungies to get in.  You will need to change the opening size if you get these and expect to use them in California!  (crawdads?  live bait?  maybe).

They are cool the way they fold up...

The Promar has proven much better for me in overnight soaks. The Danilsen (not sure of spelling) metal traps seem to have a much higher escape rate as the doors sway in the current. I am going to have to weight the doors. Any ideas?

Try pinch on rubber core sinkers or some other type that looks like it will work.

For the Danileson traps...I twisted some hollow core/pencil lead (like used for steel head fishing) on each door. Get the tinner stuff (I think its 1/4") and use just a few inches per door. Simple and cheap.

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Here's the cheapest online source I've been able to find:

http://allcrabstuff.com//catalog/product_info.php?cPath=35&products_id=60&osCsid=054d536899a81d53a37bca1c1725c1e2

It should look like this minus the 4 years of rust and crabs....

also, do i need weight sinkers with the traps.  they seem to be quite light in weight.
