I have searched the site for info on FFer's and there is a ton. What I need to know is, when purchasing a Hummingbird FF do you have to order more parts so the compatability with the hull design is met? I dont need or want a GPS?FF. Just the FF. There are so many out there I just get blown away. So I need some help. Money of course is always a consideration but I got an Amazon gift card for $75 so that will help offset the cost. Thanks in Advance. Pat R if you read this I saw your setup and it looks nice. Can you PM me? Thanks. Craig

I am not entirely sure that I understand the question but I will take a stab at it.

I think that you are asking about mounting the transducer in the scupper hole that is designed to accept it. The short answer is that you do need to purchase a new bracket that will attach to the transducer and through the scupper hole. They can be purchased through humminbird.

If you are going to just attach it inside the hull, the regular skim type transducer is usually flat enough that it should not pose any problems when mounting it to the hull with marine goop.

Hope this helps!

You should search this thread by SBD "Stealth Trident Pimpin".  I basically mounted my transducer the same way in my Prowler 15 Angler.  You can take the transducer and return it to humminbird to bet the one that fits right in your scupper hole.  If you purchase outright it is $92.00.  In your Humminbird instructions it will tell you how you can return the skimmer transducer for the scupper hole one.  They charge about $20.00. Got to their site and look up Through the hull transducers.  SBD's thread in this forum is great, read it first.----Jeff

This is the transducer that fits.  Do not use the funky block they send with it.  Goop up the white nut when you are done.  It is Humminbird #xth -9-20-p

Well I am bummed.  I just finished sawing the funky plastic triangle off the top of my skimmer transducer, not knowing why the damn thing would not fit in my scupper hole.  I got it wedged in there now, but it would be cool to get one that fit.

I guess I missed that note about trading it in!
