SCallen made the long drive in really uncertain conditions...called me twice on the road...both times I said, "its raining, but no wind"
I checked the launch, called Keith for bait, and by 10 we were paddling out-- maybe allen was 10:15..nice light SE wind.

ElDorado called us when we were at the launch, he was on the way to Leonard's and then to the launch.

I got a small leopard, a few missed taps, a starry, and then the wind started coming up...tap, tap, pump! Fish on.  10 min or so later I had my first legal sturgeon of the year at the boat.  Probably 47-50" - gabe snapped a few pics (he'll post if he can figure it out, thereby saving my new years resolution).  By the time i was back on anchor it was blowing a N gale. We stuck it out just a few minutes, then tried to escape in the hole behind rat rock-- no love.
Allen and Gabe hung a bit longer than me...i had to run home and be dadda.

It was real, and it was fun, but it wasn't real fun.  haha oly kidding it was real fun.

Steve's fish made a good run including one jump.  towed him around in a little circle.

Steve released it like a true gent.

When the wind switched, it got NASTY.  I paddled from Rat rock to china Camp cove and walked to the parking lot at bullhead flat in lieu of battling 25kt winds.

China camp is very picturesque.

I will be back.  Still looking for my 1st Yak Dino , I need to get more time in.

Thaks Steve for hosting and bait, and great to meet you Eldorado!!

Allen

Way to score Steve, I came by to bring you guys a brew and boy was it nasty out there, at least you didn't have to deal with the mud.

Caught plenty of sturgeon but never from a yak , can imagine the E-RIDE you get !!!  My biggest at  7' towed my 19' cuddy almost a mile , can only imagine what that would be like in something as lite as a yak and only inches off the water , GREAT JOB GUYS !
