I Drifted Roe and nightcrawlers a ways below the Natoma dam, caught and released a few nice fish.

Later, I  went to the wall for some shore fishing and hooked a nice buck using a Little Cleo.  There were quite a few waders and shore fisherman catching some nice steelhead and the occasional salmon.

I use a wilderness systems pungo 120, super low tech (no electronics, rodholders etc).  I have been fishing from my yak for about a year now.  I usually fish Tahoe and Hell Hole for kokanee.

Nice job. Have you caught any big macs at Tahoe?I caught some nice fish on the American below foresthill a long time ago. Down the road from town to a small bridge over the river. Damn its been so long I have forgotten the name of the road. Good luck. Enter AOTY and lets see pics of those trout. That would be hot.

WTG ATF... The AR hasn't been too kind to me as far as steelies go. I'll be out there again this season to get punished some more and donate more gear to the river gods. Still looking for steeline number 1 there. You post is promising though. Thanks for the report.

I have caught a few Macs at Tahoe by jigging a Gibbs.  I usually fish for Lake trout if the kokanee and browns are not biting (It's all about the Tahoe browns).

What is AOTY?  I don't bring a camera with me when I fish since I usually end up soaked.  I kept one Steelie for dinner tonight (one of the smaller ones; no use taking more than we can eat.) Ill take a pic before it goes in the oven.

Nice fish from an area most of us don't frequent, looking forward to more reports and pics, BTW they make truly waterproof digital cameras, I just learned that last year, they do cost a bit though, and they are waterproof but DON"T float.

Thanks for the report

I snorkeled that stretch in late November with my class and saw several steelhead.  I'm looking forward to hitting it up.  Did you use a drift anchor, or did you just float it.  I imagine the water level is still pretty low. Hit me up the next time you go, I am just over the causeway in Davis.
