Today was one of those days where you hate that your wife works weekends at the hospital and you get to watch the 5-year old. Normally I take her with me but with the water so cold, I'm afraid if we tip or she "falls in", hypothermia might set in before I can get her dry. Well, wifey called at 2:30 and said she was coming home early and I should get my stuff together to hit the lake if I wanted to. Duh! Didn't even have time to get the Marauder down from the ceiling, so I just threw the Malibu Two XL on the roof just in time to see her pull up and off I went. I got on the lake at 3:20 and decided to deep jig and throw a carolina rig. Marked some bait in about 25' and had two hits on a 1/2 oz. jig and Yum sweet beaver knockoff. So I decided to change to a lighter jig, a 3/8 oz. with a smaller Yum knockoff just as I stuck the half ouncer into a rock. The lighter jig with the smaller bait was the ticket. Caught a fat 3lb. spot right away and missed another. With about 25 minutes of light left, I decided to start throwing the carolina rig as I want to get proficient with it. After about 10 minutes, I missed a nice fish. Note to self, with three feet of line below the sinker, you really have to reel up, then swing, to get all the slack out. Live and learn. Got back to the truck and got the boat on the roof just before real dark set in. Raced home, showered and went downtown to see Stomp. Great day!!! Sorry no pictures.

Being an honorable sportsman is way more important than what you catch.

Tote,

This is the first time that my wife actually suggested that I go fishing. I should have also bought a lottery ticket.

As for STOMP, it was great!!! We were in the upper deck nose-bleed seats ($15 each) and we brought our 5-year old daugher. She loved it. Due to the main theme of beating stuff and the energy the actors/musicians had, it held her attention for the whole 90-minute show. I highly recommend it!
