I'm heading to the garberville area in a few days and was going to try the eel river for the first time, any suggestions on good pullouts and holes? any advice is great or if anyone is available for a non-yak hook up between the 30th and the 2nd that would be awesome.

Right now Leggett is 2700 cfs. That is what I consider "blown." And that is upstream of Garberville! The guage at Miranda, on the other side of G'ville, is over 5K cfs, well blown, and brown.
If you go, bring your plunking gear and stay on shore.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.
