.....At least to me!
I had big plans for finishing in the top ten this month. Stragety all mapped out. Locations, bait, times. Then everything started falling apart...literally.
One day the water in the spa was 10'' lower than the night before. I look down and see a huge puddle underneath. No fishing that weekend. Bushings to the impeller shaft went bad. The fix cost me a weekend of fishing.
Then the main sewer line had roots.....weekend of fishing and then some but got 'er done.
A few days later I go out to the garage and there is a puddle under the washing machine. Are you kidding me???? The only day I had that weekend to fish gone.
Pull into the parking lot at work; water pump goes out. That thing was burried in the engine too. No fishing for me then either. That was a 3 dayer to fix.
The only thing associated with water that hasn't broken on me this month is my kayak and I am keeping my fingers crossed.
In between all this I did manage to sneak in a trip to the Sac on 12-14-08.
After doing a lot of research my launch site turned out to be a total bust but I did find an even better spot with great looking water after doing a lot of scouting and burning some serious fishing time .
No love for me but it turns out I was fishing in the same exact spot where a 43# and a 27# salmon was caught the week before. I will be back next year.
Oh yea, it was dumping rain with wind going into the current. Maybe that's why I had the river to myself?????
Congrats to the top 10. I gave it my best.

Pic 1..Scouting a launch spot...Not the right spot
Pic 2..The right launch
Pic 3..Nice conditions with current eh???

That is some serious looking current.  Quite a series of unfortunate events you had there, all involving water!  Sounds like you built up some WAF though.   :smt002

Nice try, Tote.  When duty calls the fishing has to take a back seat - especially that sewer line dilemma.  I had the same thing happening in the last few weeks (roots in the line, digging, install new clean-out...).  I'm glad that's over!

I hope we can hookup again in '09.   :smt001

The fat lady has sung for me a long time ago. Nice to see that you at least tried. Sometimes, it's just not meant to be though. Merry Christmas Tote... we'll give it another go in 09.

Thats why I gave up my outback years ago and I work on cars for a living. Tote, sorry about all your misfortune. It sure makes the good days seem more nice though, don't it.
