Hello folks, Mr. newbie here again. :smt006 I was hoping someone could direct me
to a store locally where I can purchase the parts I need to finish my anchor trolley
project. I am in Vallejo. I have been doing a lot of research of how to go about
mounting it, so I hope I get it right the first time around.

Thanks in advance,
Jedmo

I just happened to run across this a couple days ago. Can't attest to the quality of this item though.

Not sure what brand kayak you have or if these pictures will help out? I installed a trolley for the bow and stern on my Trident 13. I wanted to be able to take the trolleys off when they won't be used with out having any extra holes in the kayak. I could also move the bow and stern trolleys to either side of the kayak with no problems. I bought my stainless steel caribiners at home depot, half the price of west marine. SS rings and rope and new bungie bought from west marine. I ran new bungie on both sides of the kayak at the paddle keepers to be able to have a place to clip the caribiners. The bungie works good to keep a little tension on the trolley. I sealed the ends of the bungie with flame and shrink wrap.

Looks very much like the setup on my Hobie, and I also got everything from West Marine.

Hey Usagi, do you mind to share a few pictures of how you went about your
anchor trolley set up? I appreciate it. I have the Hobie Outback.

Thanks

My setup is so close to yakhopper's that you can use his as a guide.  I haven't taken pics of the end-product yet, and since I'm leaving for Japan in a few days it's not likely that I'll be able to pull my Outback out and shoot some photos.  Maybe next year... :smt002  Seriously though, the pics yakhopper posted are close enough...you should be able to figure it out from there.

I just installed one on my scupper pro. I found all the parts at Orchard supply and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. 50ft of rope,2 spring clips, 2 3/8ths pulleys and one 2inch steel ring( welded).50 ft of rope gave me enough for the trolley and the anchor line(32ft of anchor line)

I'm like a neanderthal on this!  post some more pics folks- especially of the thing in action!

I've got a fixed line that runs cockpit to bow, and another cockpit to stern (both are clipped to a pad eye, so they are not totally fixed).  Then i use a carabiner on the end of the anchor line (it is what keeps my buoy from getting off the anchor line), and a keeper line attached to that. keeper line sits in my footwells.
to release, yank on the keeper line, unclip anchor and let go.  In an emergency i can unclip the fixed line instead...
