Been looking at those for quite some time , a welding shop in Cresent City ( Redwood Welding ) makes them , cheap in comparison to other mfgs. ! Last I checked around 6-7 hundred for a 8' and 9 hundred for the 10' , would have bought the 10' the last time I went through except all he had was the shorter ones . Almost bought the shorter one but it is definately  a one person rig where as the 10' will carry two .

Say a guy using one at Verona during shad season , lots of current and surprisingly little effort at the oars to move against the current or just hold position there . Think you will really enjoy your little drifter and agree with your thoughts on using it in the salt .

I looked at the RWS prams many times.  A 10' is currently $920.  They are kinda crude, but work well.  The only reason I didn't get a 10 footer from him was the seats don't move and there is only one set of oarlocks so they kinda suck solo as they don't have enough weight in the stern.  The 8 footer is a single only and they are abundant on the Smith.  I was looking for a convertible, but couldn't afford one...til I found this little beater.

That little treasure cleaned up nicely.  Look forward to daddy & daughter (and hopefully father and son) steelhead fishing reports.

Here's to hoping that your PB doesn't come in the pram, but rather your yak so you don't lose AOTY points.

Idiotic question, how do you transport the little guy to and fro?  Trailer?

I hope my PB does come in the pram.  DOTY points are much longer lived than AOTY points.

They will fit in the bed of a fullsize pickup, but not in my Tacoma.  It will however fit nicely on the bottom of my yak trailer.

SBD , I also think you got a better set up than the RWS ones , the moveable seats / oarlocks are a BIG PLUS not to mention you have those trays on the sides . The bit of clean up you had to do was nothing , the boat itself looks great , sure you will have it done in no time ! Whats up with removing the bullet holes ? LOL !

I've been looking for a used one , so far only the fiberglass ones keep showing up , which I don't want and RWS's , that guys want way more than they sell new ! I've seen the RWS 10' going for $1200+ , ridiculas - won't be my $1200 !

Cool little boat , keep us informed as to how you like it and how it fishes with two people .

I hear you, I looked for a while, good used ones are hard to find.  I'll let you know how it works.

Keep looking they will pop up I used to buy them off CL use for a season and resell I paid for my pram by selling 4 boats a little higher than I paid.
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Ah, good point.  Yeah, in that case, I do too.

It will however fit nicely on the bottom of my yak trailer.

I remember that you modified it, but for the life of me, couldn't remember what gen 2 looked like and if it would support the pram.  With your thought and foresight, I'm guessing you made the trailer modifications with the pram in mind.

I wish...Gen II is soOOOo non-pram compliant.  Gen II has also not been my favorite for the yaks so here comes Gen III!

Sean, very nice Cinderella story... :smt002  Nice work. The base boat looks like a great boat. I'm sure you'll love using it. Looking forward to this season. I've yet to use my rebuild too. For your oarlocks, consider using those quick pins that they use on trailer hitchpins. They clip right on, and stay on until you want them off. Then they pull off easily. I use the down sized ones. Maybe try and figure out a wheel system to get it to the water too.

Thanks for the words of wisdom Jonesz.  I will see if I can find some dink lynch pins, that would be nice.  I was definitely looking at some type of wheel setup, but have yet to be inspired. It is heavy enough that some type of roleez would be a huge help.

Nice mold for that anchor , did you make it ? Should be able to rent / loan it out , those pyramid anchors are pretty expensive ! Whats the weight on the anchor , aound 10 lbs. ?
Your little drift boat is coming along nicely , looking real good !

Not only are the real anchors expensive, they are impossible to find around here. Rorys co-worker made this mold after they accidentally melted a hole in the original they borrowed from Shimmy. The anchor weighs 14#, I have a couple of 10s already so if I can go lighter I'm good to go.
