For those in the greater Modesto area, I'll be heading to either Lake McSwain or the Merced right below McSwain in the AM on Turkey Day.

Will be launching at 6 AM will be out until about noon.  I'll have the radio on Ch. 69.  Company welcome.

Michael

Michael, I am IN.  I was considering McClure that day but McSwain sounds good.

Have you put in the Merced below Mcswain before?  I have not and was wondering how good of kayaking territory it is with my big Marauder.  Also only caught 1 trout below Mcswain in my life.

BMB, I've not yaked that section but prior to my yaking days, I often had my 14' aluminum in there and frequently slaughtered fish.

It all depends, if when I show up the flows are low, then I think I'll give it a go, if the flows are high then I'll do McSwain.

Looking forward to it.

Michael

BTW, I've got almost 2 dozen minnows just chilling in the garage and have thought about bringing them along.  What do you think Ben?  They might tempt a lmb or maybe a large trout.  The only problem is that since I'm traveling to the valley, whatever I bring, I've got to use up cuz I won't be coming home until Saturday and keeping them alive off my car battery is a risky situation.

Let me know your thoughts.

Michael
