Fished Ice House with rgrasso on Saturday. We fished from about 3 until sunset. A bit windy when we arrived but the wind died just as we were launching.  Warm temps, t-shirts all afternoon. Mostly trolled with a bit of casting mixed in.  We caught 4 trout - 3 rainbows 8-11" and one 13" brown.  Two smaller RB on a Seps sidekick-grub rig and the 2 bigger trout on a Shad Rap, all 4 caught trolling.  Absolutely beautiful mid-November day on the water.

Take care - John

Nice work John!  Have to love those beautiful fall days.

I read about Ice House on the Fishsniffer, where is it located?

it is off hwy 50 (several miles off) east of pollock pines.  in other words, WAY up there and almost to tahoe.

once it starts snowing it will be tough to get to the lake.

It is approx 35 miles from the Ice House Road turn off to the "Y" at Tahoe. Still a ways from Tahoe.
Access: From Pollock Pines continue on Hwy 50 east 9 miles to Ice House Road. Turn north on Ice House Road toward Crystal Basin and travel 10.5 miles to Ice House Reservoir turn-off. Travel 1.5 miles farther to Ice House Reservoir.

Because of SMUD and PG&E interest in the dams Ice House Road is plowed during the winter all the way to Loon Lake. In some instances it is plowed better than Hwy 50.
