Two trips this weekend, so far.  Hooked up with XSquid (Kevin) yesterday.  Both of us had a great day out there, with about 8-9 stripers each.  I also got two 2.25 pound LMB on top also (pic 1).  The overcast conditions helped keep the top-water action alive all day.  The fish were on the bottom too; I got 4 in a row with a fish trap.  Most of the fish were in the 14-19 inch range, but tons of fun on top-water.

We even found a spot to do some white water yaking...(pic 2).  Kevin got the fish of the day with a 24 inch, five to six pounder that he got by trolling a lure he found on the bank a few weeks ago (pics 3 and 4).

It was a super fun day on the water, see ya out there Tuesday Kevin!

I went out solo today.  Got my first fish right off the bat, a nice solid 24 incher, 5 and a half pounds (pic 1).  I got another keeper also on the troll.  Got a nice 19 inch striper on the fish trap, and two more littler ones.  Trolling was the better producer today, as I got two more keepers in the 18-20 inch range (I release all my fish whenever possible).  Top water was impossible with the crazy windy conditions out there.

The stripers were just lined up today though...all along the rip-rap...

On the way in from a windy day, my rod gets slammed hard and line is just being stripped away...so, I tighten it down a bit and hang on...moments later I reach for my net, which is too small.  Thankfully, the fish was a bit tired out, so I lipped her and flipped her into the yak.  My biggest stripper from the yak!  As I fumble for my camera, the mount that I use for self-photos pops off.  As I am trying to get the camera set-up again, the fish flops off my lap and into the drink before I can take the vanity shot!  So all I got is these two crappy photos (pic 2 and 3).  It was 28 inches, and FAT! Now I gotta catch another to get the photo too!

Ended up with 10 stripers, 6 keeper-sized.

Have a safe week out there.

Nice going on that hog.  Bigguns always seem to get caught on a solo trip, where you have to manage landing the fish and being the photographer as well.  You managed to pull it off though!

Too bad the topwater wasn't happening.  Not only am I badly addicted, but that is half of my game. Hopefully this weather pushes through and the glass comes back.

Hey Brian, that's a beauty striper! I guess I may have to let go of Napa River stripers and give Delta stripers a shot... they are much bigger!

grumpy--I got my peddles fixed last weekend.  They feel a lot better now.  Maybe these will last over a year now.

Thanks all for the pats on the back.  Have a good week.
