I have never been happier about missing a trip than I am right now.
If I could have gotten this week off Becky and I would have been on board no question about it.
Good thing we weren't.
After an accurate diagnosis by yours truly ( gonna milk this with her FOREVER ) she went to the emergency room where she had her appendix removed.
All those years of Shiatsu at the karate school definitely paid off. :smt003
She is doing fine and I should be able to bring her home late tonight or tomorrow morning. I will know more later today.
Someone upstairs definitely had our backs.   :angel13:

Definite blessing in disguise.
We wish her a speed recovery.
Incredibly fortunate not to be out sea.

Take care

Although we can live without them, the pain those little buggers can pack is no joke from what I've been told.  Glad to hear she is recovering nicely.

Great catch Tote and all our best to a speedy recovery to Becky. And if I were you... I'd milk this one forever too. I can see it now... Mike!!! What the hell are you doing...? But remember that time when I kind of saved your life... Oh yeah... you're my hero... Gotta love that kind of get out of jail card free. But, a great guy like you wouldn't hold that over her head would you???

Take care,

Mike -

Tell Becky to get better soon. Maybe a career in medicine for you? I think I told you I used to work for the postal service.  :smt006

Tote, glad to hear that the gods were looking after you and your wife.  My appendix went bad when I was 20...man, talk about pain.  I would not have wanted to be in the middle of the ocean when that happened...

Hahaha...I was thinking the same thing.  Martial arts, fishing, a stint in the USPeEss (for me it was 10 years as a carrier)...you don't happen to play paintball, do you?   :smt005  We really need to hook up on the water!

Nice call!  That training does pay off.  The specialty of my acupuncture practice was tui-na, shiatsu's Shaolin (sp) cousin.

The only guy I ever met who was really proficient at medical shiatsu was a judo instructor who studied overseas as a military brat.  I think 99 out of 100 shiatsu "massages" in the U.S. have an optional happy ending.

While in acupuncture school and working the counter of a cigar shop, I dx'd my neighbor with a hot appendix over the phone.  A quick run to the ER and she had it removed before I got off work.
