While at the Fred Hall show last Friday afternoon, Bob and I stopped by a tackle mfrs' booth (I can't exactly remember which one), and when the rep asked us what kind of fishing we do, we told him "kayak fishing".  The guy's eyes lit up  :smt103 and said he heard someone on a kayak caught and landed a big sturgeon around China Camp the previous Saturday.

Bob and I smuggly :smt025 told him that I was there on my kayak and actually witnessed it.

I asked him how he heard about it, and he said another rep in the next booth was talking about it. :secret  I sure wish I had our group picture to show off.

Josh.... your infamous!!!!  :smt023

I brought it up on the coastside board and asked where I could get apple chips, probably most of the computer literate fishermen in the area saw the pictures.  The photos were awesome, especially the on-the-water action shots.

Really though, I just rode the coat-tails of Erik, who pioneered the whole kayak for sturgeon in san pablo concept.  I think his success inspired the rest of us to give it a try.  Unfortunately, since he was braving it alone there weren't any bombastic photos until he got home.  He kind of dwarfs a sturgy too, all the short asians and I in the photo really made the one I caught look huge.   :smt002  Anyway, hats off to Erik!

BTW Erik:  Bring videos when your wife goes into labor.  It took a day and a half for my baby to come and we were bored as hell in the hospital.  The only channel with good reception was in spanish...  Trust me, you don't want to be stuck watching infomercials en espanol at 4am when nothing is happening...

Thanks for the kind words Josh... I'm really glad to finally have a group of guys who enjoy this sort of thing as much as I do, who can really share in the enjoyment of it all.

It's a lot more fun when you have others to enjoy it with... This weekend has the potential to be EPIC... I'll be with you in spirit.

And thanks for the birthing tips... I think I'll take that advice... nothing worse than having nothing other than spanish Colgate and Coca Cola commercials to watch... especially when you're short on sleep and stressed to begin with... "Colgate... con Tarter Control".... "Siempre.... Coca Cola"... Ayyyy....

Erik - I believe Bill will be sending you a couple of VCR Kayak fishing video tapes to keep you busy. They actually belong to me but Bill suggested to ship it to you (after he views it). Enjoy!  :smt002
