Dove Fort Ross yesterday for 10 nice blacks and blues.  No lings sighted. My buddy Steve shot 1 nice red but unfortunately it tore off and we couldn't find it.  Water was 8-10 ft vis and cooler than it has been.  We dove out on the south reef.  Saw a headless sealion stuffed up in the kelp out near the point.  I hate it when that happens.  Still lots of kelp but not as thick as it has been.

Sounds fun, Dave.  I'm gonna plant a little camera in your mask next time I see you!   :smt002

Hey - maybe you should use an example from spearfishing when you defend against that bogus ab guage ticket.  Divers, while spearfishing, are allowed to make a judgment about the size of a fish that has size limits (lingcod, cab, greenie...etc.), but it sounds like the warden nullified all issues of judgment (not to mention common sense) when you got that ticket.  Just a thought - hope you prevail.   :smt001

I really hate the sound of that..... :shark.......I've never seen a headless seal, but I would leave the water pretty quick if I did.  Those GWS will eat it fresh or rotten.

The only thing I like about this is the fact that the GWS aren't going after it in the Kelp,  My sense of security in the thick kelp may be true?  Since the GWS is out of the area from April to June when there is no kelp, It's all good.
