Sharing info via email, phone, and PM is a good idea if you want the info to be kept secret. For example....I currently have 42 pages of PMs!!! Sorry Bill, I need to go clean that up and delete about 150 messages LOL!

You're one of the lucky/chosen ones! I'm not in anyone's "Fav 5" so I don't have regular fishing partners. Heck, I can't even seem to find anyone to carpool to events with. Thus, the lack of hookup (freshwater) postings is more of a problem for me. I did have BAM IV on my calendar but chose not to camp in the rain so I haven't been on the water since mid February and have pretty much stopped posting because I'm discouraged.

It's a bummer because NCKA was such a congenial site when I joined.

Wow, this is certainly food for thought.  I never realized fishing had such a complex set of rules.

I understand and identify with all points of views expressed here...  I think.

Terry, the word "Sacred" really hits home with certain spots for me, (ok, one spot), and that is certainly something I will keep in mind.

For all who have shared advice and spots with me in the past, I thank you, and will do my best to ensure that when and if info is passed on  it will be done with the respect and thoughtfulness it deserves.

I can't speak for everyone but my wife and I will definitely be posting more freshwater hookups once rockfish season is closed. We're saving now to afford the 16 bucks in fees!

Janice, I'd be honored to fish with you anytime you'd like to come up to the Mendocino coast area.

Everything in life is in constant Ebb and flow. These are slow trends but they happen even to an internet. Soon as it starts raining and the rivers swell along with a banner Dungie crab year, I think we'll be seeing some pretty cool, detail oriented, picture centric, you toobin glory post emanating from the mindstreams of kayak fishing Gods.

Same here Janice, I'd be happy to share some intel with you.  I fish a lot up the Mendo way with Dave and the Fort Bragg guys and I also fish some Sonoma Coast and the Sonoma and Mendocino Lakes as well.  I'll PM you next time I'm getting out, which is not as much as I'd like, but fairly often.

The ocean is huuuuuge...I don't think a bunch of yakers can deplete the catch even if everyone fished the same location.  We've all had the experience of catching a bunch one day and zero the next on  the same spot of ocean or lake...  fish move around.  Yakking is not like shore fishing.  you can move around and search for the fish.   I can't personally go to all hook-ups but sure would like to have the option of company rather than no company.....
It was nice to have fished with you Dale...until next time...keep me posted.... :smt003

Janis you need to get off yer but and come join us, I've been wondering where you've been and Im not the only one, you are a total member of the "club", and on the hook-ups Ive seen you fish harder than anyone else. Del Valle weekend??
Do you have to carpool? I hate that shit persanally, Ive got too much stuff. Just decide its a one man/woman operation that you do with other folks. Its in a way the beauty of kayak fishing, we're not stuck.
We are our own captains, first mates and transpo.
And by the way IMO everyone likes you a lot.

I cant believe all the selfish,paranoid,cry-baby bullsh$t that iam reading. if youre catching fish, dont be greedy, life is short, post-up and help a brother out.

Life is short...and when you invest the time to figure something out only to have a hoard of lurkers be on your spot the next time you return after posting you'll understand why we have become paranoid cry babies.

I agree - I discovered many of my favorite fishing spots well before the internet and don't like people blabbing about a great little beach stacked with halibut or a rock located at such-and-such coordinates under which you find loads of 9" abs.

The desire of some people to brag about their outings on the web has spoiled some local haunts that I am proud to have discovered long before these fishing forums were around.

Janice, we miss you :smt006.  I will come to your house and pick you up next time.

Terry, that was a very detailed explanation...almost as if that has happened to you.

Sean, I don't blame you at all for keeping somethings to yourself...you are truly the leader of the pack and if you gave away your spots everyone would be there.  I just say thanks for showing me some of you spots and I appreciate your sharing info.
