Hello,
I've been kayaking for a year or so. Had good luck at berryessa with Large mouth bass and carp, but wanting to try for some stripers in the delta. Can any body tell me a good place to launch the yak around Napa?
How about the Benicia shore line? I have a boat berthed at the marina there and it looks like a good spot to try, the only thing that worries me is the strong currents in the area..Of cousre I would stay close to shore to try it out first.
Any tip's to find the stripers in a kayak friendly place would be great..

In Napa Kennedy Park or Cuttings Wharf. Watch the tides for an easy ride.  In Benicia same is true, 9th street, First St or by the marina is a nice shore launch.

Another fun launch is Montezuma Slough Bridge.  If you have GPS then hit up some of the smaller off-shoots they can hold monster fish that the big PB's can't get to. If fishing bait you will want to anchor up and wait or drag a lure behind you on your way out, if you work the shoreline you'll probably hook up especially this time of year. Bring some plugs too, in case they're busting on the surface. Shad or anchovies are a good bait that can last more than one trip. If fresh bait is your thing pile worms, shrimp or mudsuckers/ bullheads.

Welcome Fuenstock

If your looking for some Striper action you might want to check this hookup http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php/topic,14958.0.html
Its next Sunday the 26 th and a good way to meet some of the guys and gals with some food also. I understand this is a easy launch and if the stripe action isn't there is always LMB.
Hope to see you there.

Thanks for the tips. The delta group outing looks fun, unsure if I could make it. Would be a good place to see how people have rigged there kayaks for fishing in person and ask questions about there set ups. If it works out for me, I'm going!
