I caught a bunch of big vermillion my last time out and had to figure where to put them on my narrow, no deck space having Adventure. I had a burlap type bag full of reds, gophers and a blue and between the drive system and the bag I was a little crunched. I couldn't conveniently put the bag in the tankwell because my Plano box was behind the seat in the usual position and I would have to reach over it with a heavy bag full of angry fish.

I came home and started brainstorming and came up with what I think will work. The center hatch that is between my legs when I'm in the seat will allow full size tackle trays (the kind that go in my Plano box). I gooped pool noodle pieces in the hull so the tackle trays won't slide out of reach. I can now put three large tackle trays in a convenient location and the Hobie round tupperware hatch box goes in over that. This setup holds more tackle than I have used all year in all my freshwater and saltwater fishing in the last year.

I now have no need for the Plano (which was both in the way and at risk of sinking in a bad crash. I can put my bag-o-fish directly behind my seat where it will be easier to reach.

I have my ff installed now with no holes drilled, all my tackle is below deck and I can put my reels in there too. I'm working on a crash proof rod system that should be done in a week or two and then I am going to go find an iceberg to ram for testing.

Pedalling in last time with a bunch of red fins stabbing my thighs is not something I want to repeat.

There is a rod holder design on the "bigwaters edge" website that fits into the cup holder on Hobies. It is PVC material with a rubber plug and wingnut bolt that expands the rubber into the cupholder hole. The maker said it is very secure, easy to remove and can be set at any angle. The thread has pictures and instructions. I'm going to add one of those and I think I will be done. I hope to get out this weekend and test it on the big blue.

I just installed a couple Ram rod holders behind the seat on the flat spots and I love having them there. They are out of the way, but adjust out where you want them. As for the tackle boses. I made rodtube extensions with PVC pipe that insert into the existing rod holders, so I can store up to 4 rods.  Instead of noodles, I just put some of that self adhearing velcro on the bottom of the hull and then put it on my tackle boxes. Boxes stay right there and you can put some on top of the boxes and stack em if you want.  :smt001
