Just what the title says. I was at the meeting today and the sense I got was that Sean was right its gone.Arch Ricardsons property is also lost and when I talked to him after the meeting and was describing the loss for his family after 130 years I almost started crying. Todat was a sad day for all who love to dive and fish the north end of Salt Point. Right now it feels like I have been kicked in the gut. If you have never dove Horseshoe Cove you better do it this year. After the season closes its sadly over forever.

sorry for your loss, i can relate, they took an area a couple minutes from my house even though a local 20 year study was released saying the fish population is completely stable.

basically they took the best to spots on the southern central coast & left vast tracts of structureless bottom open.

good luck,

That just Su*&s! I love that spot and now will have to look for a better spots. Any idea as too the area that will be affected? WIll Ocean Cove still be accessible and how far north? I guess we will find out soon enough. I will be heading up there for the 24,25 and 26th to get some last dives in this spot and hopefully the ocean flattens out for the great last memories.

That is a major bummer. Although, I am not surprised one bit. We went through the same BS last year. End result=they raped the Monterey peninsula. So I absolutely feel your pain.

Probably.7 miles north of the north point at stump beach to the sea ranch with 3 miles out as the western border. This will be a no-take zone for all species.

The very southern part of fisk mill cove will remain open. The big cove to the north will be part of the closure. You can look up the maps on the dfg website under MLPA maps.
