I saw it might rain for BAM, so I wanted to be prepared.  I normally wear water shoes, but if it is cold they might not be comfortable.  Are these type of boots comfortable on a kayak?

I don't want to buy hip waders and I figure this would be the next option.
Thanks in advance.

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

Well, I'm bringing my chest waders & boots I use on them.  Spray jacket  & pants are already packed in my kayak bag.

NRS makes a few different wetboot models, I love mine.  They might be a good option if you won't have waders, and will keep your feet warm but not dry...  but waders are the way to go.

1 mill dive sock in the shoe for about $15 or just get a regular pair of dive booties for about $35.  I recomend the booties, they're comfortable and versatile anytime you're near the water. Check Sports Chalet's dive section, I'm pretty sure I've seen one in Antioch.

I have never been kayak fishing before, so BAM is going to be my first time.  Not sure what I should wear to protect myself in the possible rain.  I don't want to be too weighed down in case I fall off the boat either.  Here is what I have:

Neoprene Chest Waders + wading boots
Hip waders
Strict rain gear - poncho & pants

+ PFD of course

Do you think my simple rain gear + PFD would be sufficient?  I usually wear a pair of lightweight track pants underneath to keep me warm.

The waters 70 degrees and I don't think it will be cold so running gear and rain pants should be fine. I wear splash pants and a board shorts underneath, a sweat shirt for the early launch. On my feet I wear thongs it warms up quick.

Thanks for the input. The first mention of rain, and I am thinking cold, wet feet.  Panic time.  I forgot that it takes weeks to cool the water down.  I remember going to del valle on cool mornings and actually warming my feet by dipping them in the water.
