I'm starting tonight when I get home!  Wife is gonna be driven nutz when I empty my storage shed of all the camping gear, (Coolers, bleepin sag, Pillow when I leave, table(s) EZ up, cot, mat, lanterns, propane bottle, pole, hoses, stove, BBQ, chair,  BEER MUG, food box, flash lights, head lamps, extra AA batteies, Green laser pointer for pointing out stars & planets, Not that anyone's gonna be sober enough to see them. I think that covers the camping part) fishing, gear and kayak gear.  I'll put my food list together next week, charge all my electronics and FF batteries next week.  Tonight though I have to put my kayak racks back on truck.  Then assembl my minnow traveling tank (5-gal bucket with lid and air pump)  I'm glad I have an 8' pick-up bed!

Guilty.

It's a lot easier now that I keep all my kayaking gear in a laundry basket, and I've steadily been honing down the camping gear over the years to just the essentials.  I no longer carry six extra propane bottles, etc etc etc.

yeah I just use a large 10-gal bottle now and connect everything to a pole & hoses.  Ohhh damn...I just remembered I NEED mantels! When I used to jeep camp I loaded my poor CJ-5 to the hilt, so much so,that the body behind the seat is bent downward, from all the stuff loaded in the rack hanging off the back.  So I scaled down.   Now that I have a 3/4 ton diesel pick-up I carry everything! (Sometimes the kitchen sink as well) Don't want for anything!

You don't say!  :smt044   :smt008

In all actuality, I'm probably just as bad.  I've never thought about making such a detailed list, I just look around the garage and grab what I think I'm going to need.  For a weekend like this, I figure I'll survive without whatever it is that I forget.  If I can't, I can buy it.

We keep a big Rubbermaid box loaded with all of the camping essentials. Part of the after-trip ritual is doing the camp dishes and replenishing paper towels, plates, etc in the box. Then the next time we decide to go, we just toss the box in the truck and we're packed!   :smt004

Thats my "Food Box"   one of those hard plastic Rubbermaid boxes I modified to hold canned goods, paper towel's & plates, BEER MUG, backpacking cook pot kit, utensil, plastic tub for water for dishes, etc....  I'll be digging it out of my shed maybe tonight.
Got the rack bars put back on truck last night.

Don't forget who you're camping with... NCKA! If you need something, someone else will be able to help you out. That's the way this club rolls. You could show up with just a paddle and win.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Well, I started packing today, or really just running around and finding all the freshwater stuff that been hiding since the rock fish opener :)  Trying to go as light as possible, since I plan to be on the water more than on land if I can.

Usually while car camping, I admit, I go overboard and have a lengthy list like JP.  Only have a lil' Honda to haul my crap around in, so its like playin tetris to pack for a long trip for me.  Have to pull out my subwoofer to fit more stuff in the trunk.   :smt009

So no stove, extensive camp cookware, propane anything, EZ up, etc for me.  I bought an alcohol stove on Ebay, and a small mess kit, enough to make coffee and some small hot meals.  Small cooler, tent, sleeping bag, lantern and I may bring a cot to sleep on.  If I can manage the room, may bring the dutch oven.

Cheers!
