I wouldn't mind paying more. Paying the $55 plus extra for the sweatshirt and T-shirt is still cheaper than watching the Raiders blow another game lead. (Sorry, FishHunter  :smt010) And I used to do THAT 10 times a year!!

Exactly.  Since this type of fishing is so inexpensive it draws a crowd that ain't always living the high life!

Hell... knowing this now... I would've liked to get something together like a MBF series during the year... except instead of a winner take all type of deal... do a split pot and have what's raised go towards a year end blow out for the club. I'm sure that we could've done something to ease your pain Sean. I know you've done a lot for everybody here and I for one really appreciate your efforts. I hate to see it go down like this and would gladly help out in any way that I can. Just show me the way...

Thanks for the thoughts, but not really interested in my own "bailout".  if its too early for this sort of thing to fly here, I'd rather not do it or wait til it is.

F-H: I had explored the idea of a series, but if I can't sell BAM, complicating the calendar and fracturing the interest didn't look like a recipe for bigger turnouts.  I bought a second boat for BAM thinking it might motivate folks...apparently its not the prizes either.

I simply think most folks here don't have the interest in "competition" although these aren't really that kind of event, and I think lots of other NCKA folks are over booked with the Cali rat race to break away for the weekend.

Thank god for AOTY!  I think its anytime and place formula allows the scheduling freedom that works.  It is also inexpensive, and you don't have to win the whole show to be in line for a prize.

I'm don't travel across Cali. for prizes&chest pounds!....i do it, to fish with others that have the same pasion as i. To learn and explore places I've only seen pics of in reports. if there's not 100 out there like me&US, so be it!
With the "core family" we have already, we know we can pull together for a series of MBF's!...those who wish to particapate WILL and those who don't,
can continue to do what they're already doing.

...howbout'?...for starters?
He who places in the AOTY from the previous year and those past AOTY WINNERS! (& all who STEP UP when their number gets called!)
Get together and come up with some places.(No State Parks of coarse :smt002)

Honestly, that's why I didn't participate in any group events last year.  I felt intimidated, and thought I'd be the odd man out...  figured it would be clique-ey, based on how fishermen usually treat newbies and outsiders.

But that was before I realized what a cool, mellow bunch this is.  Rich, poor, fat, skinny, white, yellow, brown, kayak fishermen are all brothers.

I go for the party. The chance of winning awesome prizes is just a bonus.

Try getting someone out of their element without the possibility of a carrot/prize.

It almost impossible. They work and they attract, period.

All of you are very online supportive but are you all willing to go outside and be supportive......

Anyone who complained about fee's should be ashamed.

I'm sure they don't complain about the crappy micky D's they eat or the price of starbucks also crappy......

Whatever,,, if you don't have anything nice to say then shut up and fish.........

I travel and enter events quite a bit and read of astronomical fee's for events that exceed $500 for freaking trout, come on.

These BAM IV fee's are not going to really hurt anyone who is in the market for real friends.

I've spent alot more for alot less.

If you can afford to bailout Wall St BAM shouldn't be a problem.
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.
