It was a good day on the Bay until the wind picked up. Melissa was having a real hard time paddling into the wind. She was so determined to catch a but though... She stuck with it though and wouldn't give up. Finally, I saw that she had enough and I had to pull the plug on the outing. It's all good though. It was her first but hunt and she got two strikes that she couldn't make stick. That's fishing though...

Thanks for the call and the intel. I didn't have a bucket to get some live bait but it all worked out well. I dragged popsicles all day for 3 hits.

I made the mistake of leaving a but in the water at the landing before. Didn't quite know what the hell those things were until Chucke took chovie and tied it to a line... a couple minutes later... nothing but bones. It freaked Melissa out pretty good. She said she got bitten by those things while she was just standing there.

I got lucky and got one from there , while doing a lazy drag troll, taking a break, getting blown by the wind....iDIDsayLUCKY!

If I remember right from Bsteves they are isopods.
