Just got back from some Klamath time. It's another world there and if it was cleaned up it would be world class. I'm speaking of too many nets and trash. Yet, I keep going back. On to the report, the fish are there, but they aren't always in the same place. You have to go sniffing around like Columbo until you spot the signs. When you find them you start fishing. The last 2 days I found them above Blakes. I drifted roe like all the boats were doing and hooked zilch like all the boats were doing. I got antsy and started casting a Cleo with my half-pounder rig which is a long spin rod with #4 Maxima line. Of course it gets bit. The fish fought like a horse and took me twenty minutes to land. It was only about 10 lbs. Lucky I was in a long slow pool cuz it pulled me around all over the place.
The next day I went back and threw the Cleo all morning for nothing. Then around mid-day I hooked and broke 2 fish off, one right after the other. One of them was much bigger than the one I landed. I think my 4 lb line was distressed from the previous day's battle. You live and learn, hopefully.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

I recognize that specie but for the life of me I cant remember the last time I netted one. Thats a great shot with the lure. I am going to save that photo for my desktop if you dont mind. That way I can look at it once in awhile and think. WTG!
