Could anyone tell me what to expect as far as this winter in the Monterey area. I haven't been out in a good little while and I plan to go out at the Monterey Bay Kayak store and just tool around the first time. I am not familiar at all with the area and plan to be somewhat conservative on my first journey. I would like to understand what to expect and what will be in season and when. Last time I was out was down south and things are quite a bit different in the Monterey area. I think salmon will be open and rockfish will end soon but I have no Idea. Thanks in advance.

Salmon is closed.  Rockfish will be closed in Nov if there is no emergency closure before that. Sand dabs will be your best bet.
